Style

The Pyrite Thread Earrings feature faceted Pyrite beads with a dark metallic lustre that catches the light in flashes of gold. Pyrite forms naturally in geometric crystal structures, and its name comes from the Greek pyr, meaning fire, referring to the sparks it can produce when struck against flint. This property made Pyrite useful for fire-starting in the past.

Handmade in Hobart, Tasmania, the Pyrite Thread Earrings are available in two finishes:
Silver – solid Sterling Silver chains and fittings with faceted Pyrite beads.
Gold – 14ct Gold Filled chains and fittings with faceted Pyrite beads.

CARE

Always store your jewellery in a cool, dry place. Clean with a gentle soap or bi-carb soda and soft toothbrush, dry immediately.
For a high-polish use a jewellery polishing cloth.

Pyrite is a relatively soft mineral (Mohs 6–6.5) and can be brittle, so it should be handled gently. Avoid prolonged exposure to moisture, as Pyrite can oxidise and develop a dull surface or surface flaking. Clean with a soft, dry cloth and store separately from harder gemstones or metals to prevent scratches.

MATERIALS
