The ever-changing sea and landscapes of Tasmania have always inspired Cate, and more recently, after travelling across Australia, her appreciation of the beauty and diversity of our gem of an island, has only increased.

Leaves and flowers have been a continued theme in her work, and if not part of the piece themselves, they are featured as her signature design on the reverse of stone-set pieces.

Cate uses gemstones sourced from Tasmania and across Australia, with a focus on her favourites – the vibrant Australian Opal, closely followed by Sapphires and Zircons, especially those she has fossicked herself.
