Because of our island status in Tasmania our creatures (and plants) have had differences to their mainland cousins. In Tasmania our emu was considerably smaller than the rest of Australia’s, and had, for unknown reasons, a featherless neck.
Sadly our emu is now extinct but the memory lingers on in this unique, bold brooch.

Anna M Williams
Anna is a Tasmanian designer and jeweller based between central Hobart and Bruny Island. Influenced by both city life and the natural environment, she works across a broad range of materials and techniques, bringing an experimental and continually evolving approach to her jewellery.
