Jan Barker is a Hobart-based jeweller whose practice brings together form, texture and colour in pieces of portable, wearable art. Drawing on both natural and built environments, her work is inspired by details such as shadows, foliage, shells, bark, rockpools and reflections on water.

A favourite technique combines coloured glass enamels with Silver, using colour to accent a form or create a small focal artwork within the piece. Her contemporary designs are made to carry something personal for the wearer.
