Found antique crockery shard, sterling silver.

Amongst my collections of weird and wonderful things, I love teeth and objects that look like a tooth. I especially like the use of them in Victorian era antique jewellery! I’ve set many over the years including baby teeth for two little sisters who wanted to wear their first teeth on necklaces. I’ve set various shark teeth. I have a number of different teeth I’ve collected over time, some I have no Idea what they came from. Some I found under my house! I picked up this shard of really old crockery because it reminded me of a giant prehistoric tooth and also a scrimshaw whale tooth. It only needed a little shaping to take off the sharper edge and the rest is as found. It can be worn with the blue detail or reverse for a plain white look. I used my hallmarks in the back to look like the old antique style. During my apprenticeship my boss was asked to use the gold from a dead family member’s gold teeth! In a crucible he burnt the tooth until it was completely disintegrated and the molten gold remained. I can never un-smell that experience!
