Gilded Memories II

Made from a salvaged tin that once stored 'Pencils and Nail Punches' - a relic from a time where the use of hand tools to create a life was commonplace. The tin reminded me so strongly of my much loved grandfather tinkering happily in his shed in the sweltering Adelaide summer heat. The colourful worn patina of the tin, created by time and use, revealed more beautiful details as I worked; rich oranges and reds bringing back memories of time living and working in Central Australia. Finding it was like finding treasure - someone else's object conjuring my own priceless memories.
