Inspired by the simple yet beautiful form of a dinoflagellate (Polarella glacialis) cyst. This dinoflagellate develops and lives in the brine channels of the sea-ice of Antarctica. During ice-melt in summer the cells encyst and are released into the water. The cysts remain in the water until autumn when they are incorporated into newly formed sea-ice and begin their lifecycle yet again.
