Tasmanian Emu Brooch - Anna M Williams

Solid Sterling Silver, with sturdy stainless steel pin at the back.
 
Because of our island status in Tasmania our creatures (and plants) have had differences to their mainland cousins. In Tasmania our emu was considerably smaller than the rest of Australia’s, and had, for unknown reasons, a featherless neck.
Sadly our emu is now extinct but the memory lingers on in this unique, bold brooch.
